As I have been searching for diet advise to debunk over the past few weeks it is clear keto is everywhere. Most shows have highlighted the success in addition to Hollywood celebs using the diet....I agree a bunch of houpla but it is interesting seeing the crowds bite on the secondary news after it has already been out for so long. I guess that's due to the strength of the pop-culture news. Since I have already posted about this in the past I decided to keep looking and then I found it Milk, specifically dairy.
Most of us were raised thinking we need 3 glasses a day in addition to our yogurts. But is this really a nutritional necessity or just great marketing by the daily industry for decades? (most of you already know my position) I found this great article during my searches which gives a good look at the pros and cons for dairy. Now, I'm not going to stand by the findings in the article as gold (there is lots sound research that supports the position that dairy is not needed in our diets) but this article is worth reading just to introduce a different perspective on milk (https://milk.procon.org/view.resource.php?resourceID=000656)
The biggest point that I do stand by is that we don't need to have milk in our diet. There are other ways to get the vitamins and minerals that come from dairy. The secret is eat you vegetables specifically your dark green leafy vegetables...these should be you 1st choice foods; kale, swiss chard, arugula, spinach, boc chow, collard greens, mustard greens, dandelion greens, water cress, beet greens, etc.
If you still feel that you need to drink a white opaque fluid then choice one of the many nut juices or seed juices that is out there; almond milk, cashew milk, hemp milk, soy milk, etc. Be sure not to buy the sweetened versions as these are full of added sugars, but the unsweetened options are great.
